Welcome...
Yes
Blogging is as easy as writing in your journal or diary; however that is
where the similarity starts and ends. The writings on your blog aren't
personal, unless you set it to be. Everything is going to be displayed
publicly on your blog and is available for discussion by other blog
writers and readers. It is easy and straightforward to set one up, and
can be done on either websites such as blogger.com and WordPress.com.
These cost-free blogging services will offer you a taste of exactly what
you can do without the need for your own self-hosted blog site.
#> 1- Be you!
No one enjoys reading over a blog site
which reads as thou it was written by a three year old or looks
unnatural or even boring. Let your charisma shine through! The more
diverse one is, the more your blog site will stand out from the crowd.
Making it fascinating is among the most crucial actions you can take.
#> 2- Be watchful!
Have you ever been told never
write anything down or print anything which you would not want others to
read in public and not want to come back to haunt you? This means that,
if you're not careful, what you write will become available to the
scrutiny of the public's eyes in a heartbeat. This could have dire
consequences which may have a diverse impact upon your social life or
even your profession, specifically when your boss views that
disconcerting narrative of the bare patch of hair he is trying to cover
up, or if your partner reads about your shenanigans at the local night
club last week.
Solution!
Choose a pen name like a lot of authors do.
By
using a pen name the private facts of your life become risk-free,
whilst at the same time allow you to still engage with your readers.
This may seem at odds with whom you are but it is also about discovering
a concord between what you display to others and your personal privacy.
It
all comes down to what you are comfortable with when divulging your
personal life. If you are not comfortable, then don't write about it.
#> 3-
Be consistent!
The minute you first start
to blog, you will undoubtedly be so keen that you will regularly be
adding and updating your little piece of the blog osphere. Perhaps this
could be as much as three or four times a week. Over time you will find
that life gets in the way and what seemed a great idea at the start
becomes a chore to keep your blog updated and fresh. You will almost go
from being all enthusiastic to posting only twice a week, then maybe
once a week until in the end you either don't post at all or if you do
it is sporadic.
The main idea behind running a blog is to keep
your content fresh. If you find yourself in this situation then stop
blogging for a few days, take a breather and relax.
So you might
lose some of your readers or even potential new readers. Allocate
yourself a certain amount of time each day to write a post or even post
an update. You can even set up Google alerts related to your niche and
use that for creating content for your blog.
All you need to do is
just be consistent with your posts. If you find it hard to post three
or four times a week drop it down to two times a week. Everyone starts
out with all guns blazing but overtime and they find as I
mentioned
earlier life gets in the way.
Blogs have moved on from being just a
random set of thoughts or a simple update by an individual. Today they
have become a Mecca for people searching for a solution to their
problems. The blog has also become another means for big and small
businesses alike to help promote and market their products and services.
Thanks.
